When we think of cutting edge technology, we almost always assume that the United States is at the forefront of innovative ways of putting it to work in the form of new products and solutions. A recent study by Bain & Company reveals that while America is adopting the Internet of Things in many new ways, U.S. objectives center around cost-cutting and achieving operational efficiencies. Interestingly enough, in Europe the goal is just the opposite.
Technology providers in the US seem to have captured a great deal of mindshare around the promise and possibilities of the Internet of Things. European technology providers, however, are no less enthusiastic about the IoT’s potential, even if they have been less assertive in promoting their vision to a global audience.
