Here is one sentence that I can’t agree with. The Internet of Things is a mindset. It is way of thinking about how to put automated technology to work to drive to drive specific business outcomes. While it is not a technology product per se, it is a concept that will be pervasive in businesses, governments, educational institutions and homes worldwide. I do concur that years from now the term “IoT” will disappear from our common vernacular, as the IoT’s purpose will be assumed. But we still need to call it what is today since we’re in the innovation and early adoption stages of the concept itself.
There is no one way to look at the Internet of Things (IoT) and the various real-time analytics capabilities that come out of it. Rather, IoT is in the eye of the beholder, and varies greatly from industry to industry, and even company to company.
