Mobile World Congress 2019 is just two weeks away. So what can we expect to take away this year? For starters, this year the first “ready for prime time” commercial version of 5G will become available. 5G is a game changer- and especially so for the IoT. There will be numerous manufacturers and carriers showing off its capabilities. You can expect to see new 5G-enabled smartphones, tablets, routers, and other 5G-ready connected devices. To lend some perspective to how far 5G has come, at last year’s MWC, top mobile executives frequently stated that 5G wouldn’t be broadly available any time soon. Furthermore, they forecasted that the way 5G would be used back then has changed dramatically. The author of the article that follows does an excellent job of setting the stage for what the hot topics, technologies and applications will be at Mobile World Congress 2019.
The clock is ticking down to the biggest mobile technology show in the world. In less than two weeks Barcelona will receive 100,000+ delegates and 2,400 exhibitors from over 200 countries and territories for the Mobile World Congress.
