According to Gartner, by the year 2020, more than 25% of all enterprise cyberattacks will involve Internet of Things (IoT) devices. There is a school of thought by some subject matter experts that blockchain technology can be used to enhance IoT security at present. There are those however, that choose to disagree on blockchain’s ability to contribute to IoT threat detection, and less so with threat prevention. The following article presents arguments against using blockchain in the case of IoT security.

While some in the industry have proposed using blockchain to enhance IoT security, a panel of experts at the LiveWorx 2018 conference disagreed that the distributed ledger technology would radically transform the way IoT devices operate.
