With the low cost of entry associated with IoT devices and inexpensive cloud computing services, organizations can easily and cost effectively innovate new IoT applications.  Enterprises can now significantly increase the number of trials they run by mitigating the time and resources that potential failures may have cost in the past. This combination of IoT end points and cloud services has greatly increased time to value in many organizations already.  NASA is just one of them.    

The internet of things combined with cloud computing is the platform for innovation that is used by NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory and that should be used by enterprises, but it means setting up the right network infrastructure, JPL’s CTO says.
